A Taste of Trouble [ALL HALLOWS EVE GUARD WATCH]

While most of Adriel's family seemed to be watching from the sidelines, Adriel had volunteered to help guard the wall while the H.I.T. were off proving themselves. This was one of the few nights where they had most, if not all, of their guards on duty, with additional help from volunteering hunters and Men of Letters agents. Though the job for the most part was rather boring, it was better to have nothing happen than to actually need to protect against something.

Usually, nothing happened during the initiation. Sure, there were some croats or walkers here and there, but nothing ever too serious. Still, Adriel knew that he'd have to keep a watchful eye from now on. With what recent news he had found about his brother, who had apparently become a demon, he knew that there would be trouble brewing. He threatened his nephews after all - one of which was taking part in the ceremony.

Adriel appeared rather anxious, though he tried his best not to show it in his face. Still, the constant shifting of weight between his feet, inability to sit stand still for long, and deep breaths told otherwise. Running a hand through his hair as he tried to focus on whatever was going on beyond the wall, he heightened his senses so that he could hear just what exactly may be taking place. A few croats and the hissing of walkers, but for the most part no screaming. The H.I.T.'s were okay.

TAG: Kimberly Waters, Tyrael

The night was quiet as Kimberly Waters paced back and forth, staying alert for any signs of trouble. She was on guard duty tonight. So far it had been pretty quiet, both in the Safe Haven and out where the H.I.T's were doing their initiation. The hunter was thankful for the quiet, she was not looking forward to hearing the screams of the H.I.T if, or when, things went south, especially because she was unable to go out and help them. .

The redhead had been put on Guard duty tonight. Demonic activity had been dramatically increasing the past few days. In preparation for the almost inevitable demonic encounter Kimberly had been reciting exorcisms in her head all night. They were pretty much her only defense, as it was impossible to kill a demon with the weapons most hunters had. She usually didn't walk around with her machete out of it's sheath, but today she held it tightly out in front of her. The woman was trying to keep her breathing even as she kept walking. Her heart was racing. She was understandably nervous, she was partly responsible for keeping Sanctus safe tonight.

His head almost felt that it was just going to burst anytime soon... During the past few days, he had a run in with more demons around the wastelands more than he had usually had, and this power within him was welling up and pulsating through his body. His soul was becoming unbalanced, since his demon power had grown dramatically, and there are moments when his eyes turned fully black! But he was never able to see so in the reflection.

He still let his instinct guide him, though, and it was moving him towards a place that he hadn't seen before... As the sun slowly set, Jericho observed the city before him, which wasn't visible from the walls, so all he could see was just walls and some roof tops. It kinda looked like some other cities he had visited, but this one was different somehow....

When the night came over, and he was much closer to the walls of the city, Jericho could hear the echoes of cheers and yelling, as if some party is going on; not that he would know what a party would be, being trapped most of his life in the depths of Hades. Still doesn't mean he's stupid or anything. Apparently, though... The echoes and the loud noises wasn't only attracting him towards it. Jericho could sense demons close by, and he heard the howls of werewolves and shrieks of vampires duking it out for whatever reason along with many other kinds of creatures from the supernatural; his main concern were the demons who were much much harder to handle!

And this power was starting to really hurt his head! Ugh! Groaning softly with gritting teeth, Jericho had started to rush towards the city walls, but stopped at the sound of the ringing of... Bells? And a choir of hollering were coming from beyond the walls. People were definitely inside. Maybe they could help him? Or maybe they will end up trying to kill him? He'd be dead if the demons grab a hold of him... Or worse.

The hybrid started to really run for it now, but because of his overpowering demon blood, it was becoming more difficult and painful to keep his eyes open and his mouth closed from the grunting and the gasping. Almost there....!

As Adriel had turned himself from the edge of the wall, he began to walk the perimeter of it, keeping his eyes fixed on the outside world. While the HIT members were in a constant run and trying to prove themselves, he had to make sure to watch out for the real dangers that were coming. Sure these kids had to prove themselves, but if something dangerous came along - like an angel or a high powered demon, even a professional hunter on his own wouldn't be able to handle that.

He was in charge of making it so the hunters were safe from anything that would otherwise be out of their control. Noticing that Kimberly was scouting out one part of the wall near by, he took note that she was one of the hunters who was volunteering. As he paced toward her slowly, he made note of how young she was and watched her body language to see how exactly she was handling the festival.

For the most part, he could read that she was nervous and most likely new to this. She was tense, holding her blade up as if something was going to fly at her at any moment in random. Whether it was because she felt responsible for safety or because she had a family member out in the field tonight, he wasn't very sure. Stopping near by, he turned his body to face out toward the wasteland once more, but was only a few feet away in distance from the young woman.

"You can relax you know," Adriel tried to assure her. "I've guarded these type of events before. Although you shouldn't let your guard down, nothing serious usually happens on the night when we expect it most." And while Adriel knew that it was a bad idea to say that nothing was going to happen, he knew that she wouldn't be much good if she was tensed up and worrying herself to death. It was a distraction, and she needed to be calm and ready to act just in case.

"Hm? Oh yeah, I guess you're right." Kimberly turned towards the man standing a few feet away from her. Judging by how he held himself she figured he was an angel, although she wouldn't have been surprised if he was just an experienced hunter. The hunter realized that she probably looked extremely nervous at the moment. While that was definitely the case, Kimberly hadn't meant to let it show so much. She turned back towards the wastelands, looking out for any movement.

"I don't usually do guard duty, but I figured I'd be more help here tonight." The night had been relatively quiet so far, but that probably wouldn't last very much longer. The guards had been instructed not to leave their posts to assist the HITS unless there was a threat to themselves or the Safe Haven. Kimberly wasn't looking forward to potentially leaving someone out there to die. But if someone could handle a fight with a low level demon or other creature there wouldn't be much hope for them as hunters.

She suddenly straightened her back, narrowing her eyes at the ground below them. "Someone's running towards the wall." She mused. From there, she couldn't tell what it was but it looked like someone who was hurt, or at least in pain. They seemed to be in quite a hurry. "A scared HIT, maybe?"

Kimberly would soon find out she was very wrong. The man, whose long-coat was waving, was coming in too fast for any human to run! But he was no danger to the HIT's, simply going pass them. And since he was rather fast, they wouldn't of noticed him except for a slight blur and a bit of a gust. Finally, he slowly came to a halt, sliding for a moment before he fully stopped.

The wall was only a few feet away from him, and right in front of him, the large doors that the students had exited from. Scaling the wall up and down, Jericho couldn't help but feel a little awed about how big it is, though it wasn't as big as the City of Dis' wall... Suddenly, the lights from the wall above came down upon him, and some people were shouting and screaming down at him, but damn, those lights! They were so bright! Already having this headache, Jericho shut his eyes tightly to suppress the lights from them and all that yelling sounded like nothing but muffling noise! He needed to get away... Away from these lights, and away from the demons that were coming...

As Kimberly spoke about someone running toward the door, Adriel directed his attention toward it and immediately raised his eyebrow in surprise. Whatever was coming was definitely not human. It was far too fast, and from what Adriel could sense with his supernatural perception, this thing possessed both qualities of an angel and a demon. "Huh... what the hell..." he murmured under his breath as he immediately turned to the guards near the door controlling search lights.

"Guards! Shine your lights down there! There's an intruder!" he called out. Immediately the men had done so as the creature seemed to stand in place, looking back up at the men. Turning to Kimberly, Adriel pursed his lips. "Either you can stay here at your post or you can follow me. I have no idea what the creature is or what it's capable of." Disappearing from his spot, he reappeared near where the men holding search lights were.

Narrowing his eyes as he simply stared down at the creature, his one hand pressed tightly through the inside of his coat as it gripped his angel blade. "State your name and why you are here. What are you and what do you want?" he growled lightly, not feeling quite welcome to the idea of this... wicked creature.

Kimberly looked back down at the creature and then back up at Adriel. Sighing, she turned and ran over to wear the angel had teleported to. The disappearing and reappearing had confirmed in her mind that he was an angel. She realized as she made her way over to the men and angel by the searchlights that the creature she'd spotted had been running too fast to be a human. It had been dark though, and with her human eyes Kimberly couldn't see clearly that far away.

She had been positioned a little ways away from the door. As she ran, she once again repeated exorcisms in her head. They didn't know what the creature was, but if it was some sort of demon at least she could exorcise it. Although she was a good fighter she was only a human hunter, and a relatively new one at that. But if an angel couldn't tell what the creature was....

Kimberly reached Adriel and the men guarding the door and came to a stop. She stood a little behind Adriel, watching the creature intently. It looked like a human, which of course meant it could be a number of things. The hunter noted how the hellspawn was shielding itself from the light, almost as if it caused it pain.

"It looks like it's in pain." Kimberly noted, mummering more to herself than anybody else. She stood tensely, fully prepared to fight whatever the hell the creature was.

Jericho didn't regard anything the angel said since it was just muffling noise to him. Kneeling, the half-being groaned from the pain in his head, the brightness of the lights despite his eyes being closed, and his skin was becoming sensitive to the light as well, having it felt like a burning sensation! But he slowly stood up! He was just at the gates! He was so close to getting into safety!

He suddenly lunged forward and pressed his hands against the gates, hoping to open it with ease. But.... It didn't budge. He pushed harder and harder, and the more he pushed, the more his heart beat in his chest; it was locked! "L-let me it...!" He growled, pushing his hands more against the metal door, but suddenly, he felt this surge of power come from it and the next thing he knew, he was blown back several yards away from them! Grunting and sliding, the man stood up, looking at the symbols on the wall as he approached it once more before he was blown back once more! Be became a little frustrated this time, growling and grabbing a handful of dirty before rushing back to the wall. "Let me in!" He yelled, sounding as if he were begging, and he would very much be. The thoughts of the demons grabbing him, dragging him, taking him back to Hell.... All that torture.... That pain!

"LET ME IN!" He roared out, trying time and time again, only to be knocked back again from the gates each time! And he was becoming more and more frustrated and rather desperate...! And some sort of unseen aura was coming from him, but to Adriel, it was as clear as daylight; Corrupted Grace was radiating from him as he was using his power to cause the ground to shudder and the spotlights to explode along with whatever light there is In the surrounding area! "GRRAAAAHHHH!" His eyes opened to show that his eyes were all black in the moonlight! And he charged once again, this time, lunging forward, spinning, and swinging his leg forward!

Eyes widened as he was able to take a better look at the creature, it was quite clear now - it was a half breed. A Daeva. And while Adriel had never seen one before personally, he had heard legends of them. They were quite powerful. Like a nephilim, they possessed the might and speed, as well as the stamina of an angel. And like a cambion, they had deadly, ominous power that was barely controlled.

They were living nightmares if you made one angry, and this was no exception. Thank heavens the enchantments over the walls of Sanctus were able to hold and keep this thing out. Still, there were young hunters beyond the wall. Had one accidentally crossed paths with the Daeva, they would have several casualties this year that they were hoping to avoid.

Turning to Kimberly, he put a hand on her shoulder and took a deep breath as he then gave her what appeared to be a syringe. "I'm going to try and calm it down. If anything happens, I need you to find the Archangel Gabriel. Give her this. It's got a sedative that can take most Supernatural Beings, and if I'm not able to fix this, I need you to find her."

Disappearing and reappearing behind the Daeva that was trying to break through the wall, Adriel immediately pulled back on his shoulder to make him face him. "Calm down! I don't know what's gotten into you, but this is notthe time to be panicking. If you keep causing trouble, I'm going to have to sedate you."

OOC: Annabella, don't have Kimberly go anywhere just yet, because Jericho is going to throw Adriel back onto the top of the wall, but Adriel is going to grab him and they're going to land onto the wall together and initiate a fight while demons appear.

Jericho was, once again, only thrown back, this time, rolling on the dirt before stopping. His fist hit the ground hard, making a small crater with in it before he stood up again, grunting and panting through his teeth! His roar went up again into the sky and his black eyes wide with determination and fury! Just before he was about to take another tackle, he felt his shoulder grabbed and then his body turned to see an angel!

Jericho's eyes widened even more, seeing the white wings coming from the angel's back! These were the kinds of Angels who killed his father! Who had driven his mother from earth and back into hell! He wouldn't have had to go through all that agony and all that torture because of them! And he felt this anger towards them explode within his chest, and because of the influence this night of evil is giving him to his demon power, he couldn't help but to blindly act upon instinct!

Grabbing Adriel by his neck hard so he would not get away from his grasp with the help of his wings! "It was you Angels! It's all your fault!" He spat out! Then, he turned and with all the strength he could, he threw the angel towards the gate....

Kimberly had been standing at the gate when the angel came flying towards her. Eyes wide, she jumped to the side holding the syringe tightly to avoid it breaking. Landing hard on her shoulder the hunter gritted her teeth and stood up. Her heart was racing and she full of adrenaline. "Where the hell am I supposed to find an archangel?" She thought to herself as she pocketed the syringe. She had seen the man's eyes and figured he was at least part demon.

She quickly looked around, trying to figure out her next move. She wasn't planning on waiting around until Adriel decided something else needed done. The gate had pretty much been destroyed. This was a huge problem for multiple reasons. Primally the gate was what kept hellspawn out of the Safe Haven. Without it....She shook her head lightly. Damn it, she needed to think! The creature had to be killed or contained. It would be detrimental if it got anywhere near the HITS.

((No problem! Sorry if this is a little short, I'm kinda tired today but wanted to get a reply up.))

When the creature had grabbed onto him and threw him toward the wall, Adriel panicked, grabbing the beast by the shoulder as he was sprung into the air with him. Slamming into the gate definitely put some damage on it. It wasn't supposed to keep out this much Supernatural activity in such a short amount of time. Looking toward the gate and noticing the enchantments were wearing off, Adriel cursed under his breath as huffed up toward Kimberly. "Tell the watchmen to call for our witches to re-enchant the wall! The seals are breaking!"

Wiping the blood from his forehead as he sent his healing energy into it quickly, he took a deep breath as he stood up quietly. The daeva was now on the wall, and that meant some of the enchantments were broken. "No, no, no..." he murmured as he quickly appeared next to Jericho once more, slamming his hands down against his shoulders to keep him pinned to the ground. "CALM DOWN! YOU'RE GOING TO GET US KILLED!" he shouted in irritation.

Before Adriel could say anything else though, he felt a rumble on the ground as his grip softened on the creature. Turning his head very slowly to face the wasteland, his eyes grew small as he stood upright. In the distance, a hoard of demons was slowly approaching and his stomach turned. "What did you do..." his voice shook, speaking toward the daeva. "What have you brought here..."

Jericho wouldn't expect himself to be hauled into the sky with the angel, but when they landed, they landed hard! the man groaned softly, having some sense come to him from the hard hit, but he was rather dizzy. Must've hit his head. Then suddenly, he felt his shoulder's being touched again and he wasn't able to move for the moment, and this voice was heard from the ringing going on in his ear. "Uugh...." He simply growled and spat.

But when the rumbling started, Jericho himself went white, and he felt his heart skip many beats when he felt what was coming towards them. Demons... They're coming! Quickly standing, Jericho turned to the wastelands to actually see them. "Damn..." He said, his eyes once again their original icy-green color. "I have not brought them here! They are after me!" He snarled, gritting his teeth, though something told him that they're after something more than him... They would want to try to enter to city! But the seals the angel mentioned earlier... They were disappearing! He scoffed and his hands turned into fists. "But if they will get me... I won't go down without a fight!" He said and beat his chest before huffing, his eyes once again all black. Tonight was the night of evil... They will see how evil this Daeva will get!
